POSITION INFO:

This position is responsible for all areas of Quality Assurance at the Goshen facility. Primarily focused on the daily management of all areas involving Quality Assurance.  Secondary responsibilities related to some plant safety & security initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Lead various plant safety initiatives to support OSHA VPP Star program.
•    Maintain Process Control Plan (PCP's) for the facility.
•    Supervise a small team of Quality Assurance Auditors.
•    Collaborate and troubleshoot issues in the production process.
•    Inspect & test finished products, rejecting products that do not meet or exceed standards.
•    Maintain records of inspected product as required and report all substandard conditions.
•    Participate in site ISO program and coordinate all related compliance activities.
•    Assist in the allocation of resources to optimize machines to deliver enhanced quality product.
•    Work closely with the Production and the Quality departments to process efficiency.
•    Ensure compliance with NSF and IAPMO Standards and Codes. Interact with agencies as necessary.
•    Collaborate with the team regarding substandard products and implement corrective actions as needed.
•    Create reports concerning quality testing of current quality conditions. 
•    Support and improve 6S in Quality Assurance.
•    Lead process optimization projects as assigned to improve plant efficiencies.
•    Ensure the needs of internal and external customers are being met or exceeded.
•    Perform all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

3 years or more of Quality Engineer experience required. Plastics manufacturing experience preferred. Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is preferred.  SPC and SQC experience with a Green Belt in 6 Sigma. SAP/ERP experience preferred. 

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment or gauges.
