POSITION INFO:
The Inside Sales Representative applies the resources of the organization and consultative selling practices to meet customer requirements.
Work schedule includes remote work within the Eastern region of the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that customer orders and inquiries are addressed in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
- Handles complete process of quote through order entry.
- Managing open quotes by following up with customers, booking or closing in system.
- Coordinates with Accounting regarding new customer accounts and initiates terms, enters of credit and records and updates master account files.
- Reviews and signs off on final order against customer contract (Purchase Order).
- Prepares, reviews, and accurately processes change orders.
- Maintains special order requirement files and responds to specific customer requests.
- Works to get orders expedited, as needed.
- Employs consultative selling skills; establishes Customer partnering relationships to assist customers and SVF personnel with general to complex technical product support.
- Shares information with staff and Business Development Managers concerning inquiries, problems, and corrective actions.
- Employs departmental order entry standards, procedures, and systems.
- Ensures timely responses to technical inquiries, problems, product support and customer complaints including managing the complaint through customer satisfaction.
- Organize and maintain customer RFQ’s and corresponding documents.
- Participates in special projects as requested.
- Develops and delivers product application solutions based on technical knowledge and expertise utilizing company assets, departmental specialists, written specification requests.
- Assists customers with assignment of RMA numbers and recording of complaints.
- Responsible for handling miscellaneous projects including, but not limited to, quotation follow up, phone surveys, pro-active customer calls, telemarketing, business development activities, etc.
- Responsible for reviewing all opportunities with their respective Business Development Manager.
- Interacts with other departments as necessary to accomplish objectives.
- Advises management of any competitive intelligence obtained during conversations and meetings.
- Maintains contacts in Business Contact Manager.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) or more years of responsible experience in a customer service/inside sales environment.
- SAP experience preferred.
EDUCATION:
- BA/BS in appropriate field is desirable.
TRAINING AND SKILLS:
- Relevant training in Inside Sales.
- Excellent telephone sales personality skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Highly energetic and self-starter.
- Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
- Business Contact Manager experience a plus.
- Knowledge of customer service principles, practices and procedures, records systems procedures.
- Knowledge of ball valves required.
- Highly proficient level computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
- Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
- Ability to conduct conversations with technical counterparts internally and externally with respect to technical, installation and trouble shooting.
- Uses probing skills to clearly understand customer requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
- May be required to travel on company business in interacting with customers, vendors, and sales representatives.
