POSITION TITLE: Cell Team Operator – Mon. – Thurs. – 7:30p.m.- 6:00a.m.

REPORTS TO: Night Shift Supervisor
LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, Virginia
The purpose of this position is to safely manufacture copper fittings that meet quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. This will be accomplished chiefly through setting up and operating any and all manual and automated machinery associated with the cost center listed above, cleaning the work area and equipment and any other assigned duties as deemed necessary by the area supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operation of manually-fed and automated machinery – Entails safely starting, supporting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and cleaning of any and all assignable machinery. Tasks may include use of powered lift equipment and working on fixed elevated platforms.
• Inspection of manufactured fittings to quality specifications – Associate will be expected to use many different forms of measuring tools, including plug and ring gages, as well as calipers and micrometers to ensure manufactured fittings comply with internal and external quality standards.
• Clean up of work area – Associate will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work area around the machinery to which they are assigned each day. This cleaning may include, sweeping, mopping, removal of manufacturing by-products, and cleaning of surrounding work areas.
• Flow to available work – Associates will be expected to work in other manufacturing areas as dictated by the flow of new orders. Assignment to other work areas can last for indeterminate periods. .
• Adheres to all safety guidelines.
• Supports safety committee: participates in safety initiatives.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience successfully operating and maintaining the machinery associated with this particular work area will be most heavily considered when selecting from applicants for this position (experience operating and maintaining any heavy manufacturing equipment, manual and/or automated, will be considered favorable). Familiarity with the quality checks associated with production of wrot copper fittings will also be a plus. If all above considerations are deemed to be equal, time of service will be used as the deciding factor in awarding the position.
EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds for short periods of time
Internal applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) If the posted position is an hourly or salary level 1, the associate must be in their current position for 18 (eighteen) months; 2) if the position is salary level 2 to salary level 5, the associate must be in their current position for 24 (twenty-four) months; and 3) if the position is a salary level 6 or above, the associate must be in their current position for 30 (thirty) months. Internal applicants are limited to advancing no more than two salary levels.
