POSITION INFO:

This candidate will be responsible for the daily activities of the electrical department, as well as working with engineering, production managers and services managers to coordinate resources for addressing breakdowns, projects and safety/skills based training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all electrical department associates and coordinate the workload in order to ensure priorities are met and work is performed safely and satisfactorily.  Work “Hands On” with electricians as needed to ensure optimum up time.
Ensure that all safety and skills based training within the department is up to date.
Coordinate required maintenance such as IR testing, plant load/key asset monitoring, annual substation maintenance, etc.
Monitor entire electrical infrastructure to ensure both plant safety and plant productivity.
Project management.

EXPERIENCE:

Candidate must have at least of 10 years of experience in industrial power and controls.

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
A certificate of vocational training or an associate’s degree relating to Industrial power is also required.
A master electrician license would eventually be required.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

•    Experience with motors, starters, VFDs, relays/relay logic, PLCs, understanding of induction heating and controls, SCRs, all types of sensors, transducers, position monitoring, full understanding of technical drawings, etc.

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as mathematical comprehension

Internal applicants must meet the following criteria:  1) If the posted position is an hourly or salary level 1, the associate must be in their current position for 18 (eighteen) months; 2) if the position is salary level 2 to salary level 5, the associate must be in their current position for 24 (twenty-four) months; and 3) if the position is a salary level 6 or above, the associate must be in their current position for 30 (thirty) months. Internal applicants are limited to advancing no more than two salary levels.
