POSITION INFO:
POSITION TITLE: Machinist / Tool Maker
DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY: Tool Room (810)
JOB TYPE: Hourly
LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, Virginia
PERFORMANCE SUMMARY:
Candidate must be qualified to build tooling to exacting tolerances in a tool room environment, with little supervision. Additionally, candidates must have a full understanding of Tool and Die design and metal forming characteristics.
This is a 2nd or 3rd shift position. Shift schedule will be (4) 10-hour shifts, Monday thru Thursday.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This person will be responsible for building production tooling using all types of tool room equipment.
Other responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of tooling and dies, assisting with tool and die design and development, maintain good housekeeping, promote safe work practices and any other duties assigned by the department manager
EXPERIENCE:
A completed Machinist / Tool Maker Apprenticeship is preferred for this position.
5 years’ experience minimum in a machine shop
EDUCATION:
A completed Machinist / Tool Maker Apprenticeship is preferred for this position.

• Ability to read technical blueprints and sketches
• Strong mathematical comprehension (particularly shop math/trigonometry)
