POSITION INFO:

POSITION TITLE:  Quality Assurance Manager
DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY:  Manufacturing

LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, VA 

This position is primarily responsible for establishing, enhancing, and maintaining a quality process system that will assure, when adhered to, that the manufacture of product and services provided to all customers will conform to agreed upon standards and requirements.  This is specifically accomplished through the following Performance Roles, Key Result Areas and Competencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Develop facility quality procedures and major quality objective that support the corporate quality policy.
•    Design the system of product quality rating, audits, surveillance and summarized reports needed to provide quality assurance management.
•    Maintain the facility Quality Assurance procedures including SOP’s, Standard Operating Procedures, and all ISO procedures/processes/audits.
•    Trains internal auditors to conduct audits for ISO compliance
•    Work with vendors in the resolution of quality problems; communicate standards of performance and quality requirements.
•    Provide good communication between all departments and shifts concerning quality issues and standards.
•    Utilize analytical tools to analyze processes, identify trends and solve problems.  Communicate effectively the results of data analysis with appropriate individuals.
•    Researches, evaluates, and implements innovative approaches to processes and metrics, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
•    Design the inspection and test process; prepare and report summaries of results of inspection in appropriate ways.
•    Puts in place metrics to measure the effectiveness of the site’s quality systems.
•    Implement and facilitate measurement system analysis (GR & R), and process capability evaluations.
•    Ensure timely and proper calibration and proper storage of all measuring instruments.
•    Develop procedures for inspection plans and testing of products in all phases of production.
•    Perform or coordinates all product testing in a timely manner.
•    Make final audit checks to verify that packaging and labeling of product is correct for JIS approved products
•    Prepare and make available all reports concerning quality and testing to keep all persons aware of current quality conditions.
•    Investigate causes of defects or out of spec products and follows up with corrective action.
•    Analyze customer complaints and returns; recommend corrective action; communicates effectively as a result.
•    Design and conduct training programs in various specialties related to quality.
•    Ability to handle multiple priorities/projects, while considering multiple views to a problem, highly focused, keyed to innovation, and quick to bring issues to a resolution.
•    Reports all safety hazards, unsafe working conditions, abnormal circumstance, accidents, or other problems immediately. 
•    Keeps own work area neat and orderly.
•    Ensures compliance to NIBCO safety, OSHA, environmental, and quality programs.
•    Serve on the Plants Leadership Team
•    Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Quality and manufacturing experience required

EDUCATION:

Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

•    Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).  SAP experience preferred.
