POSITION INFO:

POSITION TITLE:  Saw Operator 12 hr Day shift – 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY:  Cost Center 380 Saws
JOB TYPE:  Hourly
REPORTS TO:   Tube Mill Manager
LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, Virginia
PERFORMANCE SUMMARY:  
The purpose of this position is to safely manufacture copper tubing that meets quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. This will be accomplished chiefly through setting up and operating any and all equipment associated with the cost center listed above, cleaning the work area and equipment and any other assigned duties as deemed necessary by the area supervision.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Operate, saws, crane and wherever needed. Load/unload 3 auto saws and cut copper into blanks.
Inspection of tube to quality specifications – Associate will be expected to use many different forms of measuring tools, including gages, as well as calipers and micrometers to ensure tube complies with internal and external quality standards.
Clean up of work area – Associate will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work area around the machinery to which they are assigned each day. This cleaning may include, sweeping, mopping, removal of manufacturing by-products, and cleaning of surrounding work areas. 
•    Adheres to all safety guidelines.
•    Supports safety committee:  participates in safety initiatives.

EXPERIENCE:

Manufacturing experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

•    Acceptable attendance record per hiring and job transfer policies
•    Ability to accurately read measurement tools (including plug and ring gages, as well as micrometers and calipers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

•    Ability to lift loads of up to 70 pounds for short periods of time
